Leaving the Curch of Saint Agatha, behind we continue on Hal Far Road taking the first turning on the left, following the Camino Maltes waymarks towards Ta’ Hlantun or Misrah Hlantun.
The area was inhabited from ancient times, as evidenced by excavations of a paleo-christian church further down the road towards Hal Far and the punic tower in Ta Hlantun area.
However the threat of pirate attacks and the growth of Zurrieq as a village saw outlying communities such as the one of Ta’ Hlantun, incorporating themselves within the relative saftey of a larger community.
From Ta’ Hlantun the walk continues around the airport ring road, pasy the church of Our Lady of Loreto, crossing the road at the end of perimiter fence of the airfield at the pedestrian crossing (where the public car park and other airport buildings commence), going into the village of Gudja, towards Bir Miftug Church.
