From Meana Sardo the walk continues to Sorgono also within the province of Nuoro.
Sorgono is best known for its menhirs at Biru’e Concas.
It is perhaps one of the focal points in DH Lawrence’s “Sea and Sardinia” (1921) and is located in the centre of Sardegna, surrounded by forests of oaks, conifers, hazelnuts and chestnuts. Wildlife in the area also contains eagles, falcons, deer and roe.
The area also has, weather-chiselled, granite mountains.
The Trenino verde railway starts in Sorgono.
From Sorgono the walk continues to Nughedu Santa Vittoria.
