We had planned to spend a quiet week of vacation in Malta with my wife, when, during a short walk around the Three Cities on our second day, we stumbled upon one of those typical Camino markers we know so well!

After walking many Caminos in Spain (Norte, Primitivo, Olvidado, San Salvador, etc.) and in Portugal (starting from Lisbon), the Camino has become a part of our life.

We love discovering new regions, cultures, and people simply by walking. It also allows us to discover more about ourselves. Finding that marker at the beginning of what was supposed to be a relaxing trip got us more than excited! The idea of discovering Malta and then the beautiful Italian islands on foot was absolutely thrilling!

So we decided to contact the president of the Maltese Camino Association, who kindly came to our rescue by providing us with two credencials on short notice.

Two days later, we were on our way! Okay, the 35 kilometers aren’t the most challenging we’ve walked, but that’s not the point here. We loved discovering Malta this way and can’t wait to continue with Sicily and Sardinia next year.

Many thanks to everyone who made this Camino possible!
