We walked the Camino Maltés on March 25th as our first step in completing the whole Camino via Sicily and Sardinia to Santiago. This was a project for Lent 2024 with increasingly long training walks, sometimes on segments of the Camino and sometimes not, finishing with the whole walk at the start of Holy Week. Without a doubt the Camino Maltés is a well-planned and easy to follow route, with very few sections on busy roads, making it easy to settle into an almost meditational state as we ticked off the various destinations. It was a great pleasure to complete it and we are already thinking about when we do Part 2 – the Cammino di San Giacomo in Sicilia.
